It’s been super cold outside lately so that means lots of indoor studio portraits!  These are some recent photos of Ivan, who wanted some simple shots for his portfolio.

Website Updates

December 30, 2009

Great news! The Pixelette website has gotten a little face lift.

Senior portraits now have their very own website with updated portrait packages created specifically for seniors. A while back I announced our new senior makeup service and it is now finally live! Check out the site for more details.

And, while it’s not exactly new, the Pixelette Pin Up and Boudoir Photography also has it’s own site and it’s own blog. So check the site for the latest photo updates from the pin up side!

Wooo great news! Pixelette is now offering makeup application for senior portraits! The talented Lindze Merritt has offered her services to give our seniors the complete photo experience.

Keep your eyes peeled for the updated website (coming soon!) which will give you all the info on makeup options and prices. I will, of course, make an updated post to let everyone know when that is ready to go. You will have the option of natural, glamorous and creative/couture makeup looks. Since everyone is different, we recommend an in studio consultation to discuss your perfect look.

In the meantime, check out some examples of makeup looks you could get, as modeled by the lovely Sam.

Here’s an example of a simple makeup look:

It was a rainy day at the Pixelette studio, but Amber and I were ready to rock anyways! I managed to acquire a nice furniture piece from a friend for this shoot, and it turned out great. I have been working on collecting interesting furniture pieces for use in the studio and am finally getting the collection going. After all, I have an entire back room of the studio that is unfinished (for now). It’s supposed to be a makeup room eventually, but for now… it will stash all my cool new furniture!
Back on track, Amber’s photos turned out awesome. She had some sassy outfits and obviously knows how to work the poses. I tried a couple of different lighting setups for the occasion. As usual, we were going for the fashion feel and I think we got it!

Jennifer rides horses, so naturally we decided to do her senior portrait session on the horse farm. This was my first time shooting with horses, but it proved to be a pretty easy experience. I guess I sort of thought they might be freaked out by the camera flash, but really our only challenge was keeping them looking towards the camera. Jennifer had great control over her horse, though. So she made it super easy!
There were so many great things to provide scenery for our shoot, I had a hard time choosing!

I have never been to Conyers before! The downtown area is charming and had a lovely park area that made a great backdrop for these photos. Zada and Zuri are twins, and they were super cute together. We ran around downtown Conyers and visited their school as well. It was sort of cloudy at the beginning of the day which actually turned out kind of cool in the school shots. Very dramatic skies!

I am way behind on blogging all my recent senior sessions! Moving to the new studio has totally taken up all my free time. I’ve been working on painting, cleaning, decoration.. and it’s still a work in progress! I think it’s going to be a little while before I get it to where I want it.

But anyways, one of the first sessions I got to do in the new studio was with the lovely Victoria. We did a mix of in-studio and on location shots. There is an abandoned house in Canton that I had my eye on for a while, and I am glad I got to use it as a location!

Enough yapping, onto the photos!

I am so behind on blogging my latest senior sessions! Bad Allison! I will try to catch up.
Megan was super fun to shoot because she was so full of energy, and look at that awesome hair! She looked amazing and made my job super easy. We went to downtown Douglasville where there were plenty of historic buildings to shoot around.

Sessions will be limited. Session fee is due within 7 days of booking in order to hold your date.

Julia and I went to Sope Creek Park for her portraits, which, despite being about a billion degrees, turned out to be a beautiful location! Julia’s dress totally made her look like a fairy princess, I loved it!
